On arrival in reception you will be asked to complete a simple background questionnaire.
The optometrist will measure your pupil size, your corneal thickness and will also take some images of the front surface of your eyes. It is all this information that will allow your ophthalmologist to decide if you are suitable candidate for treatment.
Once you have had your assessment you will be brought back through to reception and will then go on to have an additional thirty-minute appointment with your ophthalmologist.
The ophthalmologist will examine your eyes to determine whether a visual defect is located on the surface of the cornea or within the eye itself, thus creating a perfect diagnosis tailored specifically to the patient’s personal requirements
The doctor who examines you at this stage will ultimately treat you, so please use this valuable time with him to ask any questions you may have. You may be suitable for more than one method of treatment and your doctor will be able to explain the differences and discuss your options.
Many patients comment how reassuring it is to meet their doctor at this initial stage and it is actually surprisingly rare to have the opportunity to have a personal consultation with your doctor. Here at Visualase, we understand how vital the doctor/patient relationship is and hope you get the most out of your time together.
There is no pressure at all for you to make a decision there and then. The purpose of your assessment and consultation is purely to determine your suitability so you can make an informed choice if you want to go ahead. We take no deposits from you and you will receive no follow up ‘sales’ calls.
